HL7 Generator

This tool is intended to support providers with the testing process for verifying their systems are correctly configured to receive and process NBS results through HL7 version 2.5.1. The tool generates sample test results in HL7 format based on the input parameters specified by the user. This includes the ability for users to generate HL7 files for different combinations of test result values. Under certain circumstances, additional results are sent by GDSP and those options are listed in the “additional results” drop-down. For adequate testing coverage, the recommendation is to generate test results for each of the options listed in the additional test drop-down. The tool also allows a user to copy the generated HL7 in clipboard; this feature is available only on Internet Explorer browser. Alternatively, the generated message can also be saved in .HL7 format.

HL7 Acknowledgement Validator

The validator tool allows the user to check the syntactical structure of the acknowledgement message GDSP expects to receive for each test result sent. It parses each segment and lists errors in a step by step approach. This allows a user to easily identify errors which require changes. All the error messages are highlighted in red whereas the success message is displayed in green. The validator tool does not validate the error message content in the ERR segment. It only checks whether a particular segment exists or not.
